PhonoCalibre is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your data belongs to you and should remain on your device. This policy describes our approach to data handling.
Data Collection
PhonoCalibre does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app operates entirely on your iPhone and does not communicate with any external servers. Specifically:
- No personal information is collected — we don't ask for your name, email, or account.
- No sensor data leaves your device — all gyroscope and accelerometer readings are processed locally and never uploaded.
- No microphone access — the app uses only the gyroscope and accelerometer for measurements.
- No analytics or tracking — we don't use any third-party analytics SDKs or tracking frameworks.
On-Device Processing
All measurement data — including gyroscope readings, computed wow & flutter metrics, platter level readings, and measurement history — is stored locally on your iPhone. This data:
- Never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share a report via the Share Sheet.
- Can be deleted at any time by clearing your measurement history within the app or deleting the app.
- Is stored using iOS's standard local storage mechanisms and benefits from the system's built-in encryption.
Sharing
When you use the Share feature to export a measurement report or CSV file, you control where that data goes. PhonoCalibre does not have access to the destination you choose. The data is shared directly through iOS's native Share Sheet and is not routed through any third-party service.
Third-Party Services
PhonoCalibre does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The app uses only Apple's first-party frameworks (Core Motion, Swift Charts, StoreKit for ratings).
