Our Commitment

SnoreDetector was designed with privacy as a core principle. Your sleep audio — one of the most intimate forms of personal data — deserves the strongest possible protections. We built SnoreDetector so that no audio data ever leaves your iPhone.

What Happens on Your Device

• Audio Processing — All microphone audio is processed locally on your iPhone using on-device DSP (Digital Signal Processing). Audio samples are analyzed in real time and are never stored, uploaded, or transmitted off the device.
• Snore Classification — Snore detection uses a local classifier that analyzes frequency patterns, periodicity, and spectral features entirely on-device.
• Recording Storage — Brief snore clips are saved only to your device’s local storage. These recordings stay on your iPhone unless you choose to delete them.

Data We Do Not Collect

SnoreDetector does not collect, transmit, or share:

• Audio recordings or live audio streams
• Microphone data of any kind
• Personally identifiable information
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Location data
• Health or sleep data (SnoreDetector does not integrate with HealthKit)
• Any data shared with third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services

iCloud Sync

If you use multiple Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account, SnoreDetector may sync your snore session history and recording metadata (counts, timestamps, session summaries) across your devices using Apple’s CloudKit private database. This data is encrypted end-to-end and is accessible only to you through your iCloud account. No audio recordings are synced to iCloud unless the app stores them as part of your app data.

Microphone Permission

SnoreDetector requires microphone access to function. This permission is requested on first launch and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Without microphone access, snore detection cannot operate.

Third-Party Services

SnoreDetector does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks. There are no third-party SDKs that receive or process your data. The app uses only Apple-provided frameworks (AVFoundation, Accelerate, CloudKit, WatchConnectivity) which are bound by Apple’s privacy and security standards.

Children’s Privacy

SnoreDetector is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
